Protecting the Sandcastle

I met the Devil in my sleep. I stood before him, in awe, as if I beheld the whole of the cosmic ocean in the one eye, and frozen in fear, as if I beheld the precipice of my annihilation in the other. He told me his name. It was unknown, like a secret, and started with an "M," like my name. If you know anything about naming, you know that it's the first step to having power over a thing. If evil is the exercise-of destructive power, then protecting the sandcastle is my "l o v e made visible."
